When you think of a winter wedding in Minnesota, you might picture snow, candles, and an extra cozy atmosphere — and that’s exactly what this beautiful day at Station 10 in St. Paul delivered. It was one of those small weddings that felt completely magical, filled with warmth, love, and the kind of glow you only get from hundreds of flickering candles.
The best day for Maddie and Alex
On this chilly January day, Maddie and Alex created something truly special. We started the morning getting ready at the iconic St. Paul Hotel, which was the perfect backdrop for getting-ready photos. There’s something about the old-world charm of that hotel that just makes everything feel extra timeless.
From there, we headed to the Landmark Center for their portraits, and honestly, it was one of those golden winter days where the sun makes everything look dramatic and almost cinematic. The light pouring through the windows at the Landmark was pure magic and we captured some super romantic, joyful portraits that felt both grand and personal at the same time. (Plus, it gave Maddie’s dress and Alex’s classic look the full spotlight they deserved!)
Station 10 Wedding – A fire station wedding!
We then headed to Station 10 for the ceremony and reception. The couple kept things beautifully simple: a heartfelt candlelit ceremony, a relaxed dinner (with more candles and white florals) and plenty of time for everyone to really connect and celebrate. There were little touches that made it feel incredibly personal!
This cool venue is now one of my favorite venues for intimate weddings! It’s a renovated historic fire station, full of character, brick walls, high ceilings, and just enough modern and stylish touches. Okay, but that isn’t everything! There is a whole coffee shop in the first floor that is delish! It’s perfect for couples wanting a small venue that’s both cozy and bright , central to Saint Paul and totally dreamy in the winter months.
Bonus: there’s an actual coffee shop on the first floor — and yes, it’s delicious! (10/10 would recommend grabbing a cappuccino before heading upstairs.) It’s the perfect spot for couples wanting a cozy, urban venue that’s central to Saint Paul and seriously dreamy, especially for a winter wedding.
Candlelit Wedding Design
Maven Events design the event with candlelight, stylish rugs and simple greenery for the ceremony, creating a super romantic and inviting atmosphere. For the reception, a long family style table was adorned with even more candles and neutral florals, making for an stunning display. The event only had about 40 guests so the space felt just right ! It was a wedding intimate enough to feel personal and heartfelt. There was something so special about seeing everyone gathered together in the soft light, escaping the cold Minnesota winter just outside the doors.

Why I love Winter weddings !
There’s just something about winter weddings that feels extra magical, especially in our long winters! Weddings in historic or cozy buildings, feel quiet and peaceful ! The cold outside it’s the perfect excuse to cozy up inside for a day all about love and connection.
