How to position yourself for a proposal

How to position yourself for a proposal

Which Kneel is best to kneel when proposing?

While there is no “wrong knee” to kneel on , here is the tea!

Proposing on the left knee is the most traditional way, as the whole bended knee proposal comes from medieval knights bowing before royalty and noble women as a sign of respect.

However, for photography purposes, I prefer that you kneel on the knee closest to the camera.

Some persons, recommend you kneel on the right knee, because you can then  present the ring with your left hand,  open it with right one.

At the end of the day, I don’t want. you to overthink it! The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident while proposing. Whether you choose to kneel on your left or right knee is a personal decision, and it won’t affect the sincerity of the proposal.

Sideways position

Position yourself perpendicular to where the photographer will be so they can make sure you get both of your faces in the photo!

The Angled position

If the person getting proposed to has long hair, which is many many cases- I recommend a different variation of the sideways angle!  In order to avoid hair hiding their faces when they look down, you will want to face them towards where the photographer will be with YOUR back will be towards the photographer.

The photographer will then see your position but just a little bit of your profile, but we will get a wonderful frontal face of their reaction!

You deserve photographs that feel as honest and meaningful as the day itself! Images filled with emotion, connection, movement, and the people you love most.
Throughout the day, you’ll be gently guided when needed, while still leaving room for natural moments to unfold organically, creating photographs that will feel timeless long after the wedding is over.
