The Cedarhurst Mansion Wedding Venue Guide

Cedarhurst Mansion Wedding Venue Guide

Cedarhurst Mansion is one of the most exciting new wedding venues coming to Minnesota.

After touring the property, I immediately understood why so many couples are already talking about it. Between the classic architecture, the restored rose gardens, grand columns, and light-filled atrium, it feels more like an East Coast estate than a typical Twin Cities wedding venue.

Cedarhurst feels completely different than most wedding venues in the Twin Cities. The grand white columns, historic architecture, tree-lined grounds, and gardens make it feel more like a private estate than a traditional event venue.

After touring the property, my immediate thought was simple: there is nothing quite like this in Minnesota. The property is currently undergoing a significant restoration and expansion, with a planned opening in 2027.

This one-of-a-kind estate offers something incredibly rare in Minnesota weddings: true historic elegance paired with modern touches and access to nature areas!

Cedarhurst renovations including adding a stunning new atrium filled with natural light with views of a rose garden.

For couples dreaming of a wedding that feels elegant, romantic, and a little bit old-world, Cedarhurst is going to be it!

Getting Married at Cedarhurst Mansion

Cedarhurst Mansion feels like a venue designed for couples who care about atmosphere.

Every space feels intentional, from the grand front columns to the restored rose garden and light-filled atrium.

One of the things that makes Cedarhurst particularly exciting is the way it blends historic architecture with newly designed spaces. The original mansion already offered so much character, craftsmanship, and history, while the atrium brings natural light and a timeless, elevated aesthetic that feels perfect for today’s weddings.

Why Couples Love Cedarhurst Mansion

Cedarhurst feels especially well suited for couples who care about atmosphere. The kind of couples who notice architecture when they travel, who save images of English gardens and estate weddings, and who want their wedding day to feel both elegant and deeply personal.

The property feels secluded and private, creating the feeling of an estate wedding weekend while still being really accessible to Twin Cities guests or traveling guests.

Why I Love Cedarhurst Mansion

Cedarhurst Mansion is one of the most exciting new additions to the most unique Minnesota wedding venues. As a Minnesota wedding photographer, what excites me most about Cedarhurst is that it fills a gap that the Twin Cities have been missing!

For years, couples have saved inspiration from historic estates in Charleston, Newport, and Europe, but finding that same atmosphere locally has been difficult. We have a few Mansions in Minneapolis, such as Semple Mansion, the Van Dusen Mansion and other historical venues too such as St Paul College Club, the Minneapolis Club.

The architecture immediately draws you in, the front columns are dramatic and iconic. The rose garden addition will be such an unforgettable option for photos! The atrium will bring space and natural light. The lawn and the mansion offer a variety of backdrops without needing to leave the property.

From a storytelling perspective, the venue naturally lets you create images that feels romantic, refined, and timeless.

What impressed me most wasn’t just how beautiful the property is. It was how many different experiences it can create throughout a wedding day. You can have portraits by the columns that feel grand and editorial, garden photos that feel romantic and soft, and reception images that feel warm and elegant without ever leaving the property.

Lighting Notes

Filled with windows and natural light, the mansion feels airy and luminous, yet still has a bit of interesting directional light that would photograph beautifully throughout the day. Crystal chandeliers and soft neutral tones help the space feel elegant. The historic ballroom in particular feels warm, elegant, and naturally photogenic.

The Front Columns

The grand portico is one of the most iconic architectural features of the property.

It immediately creates that estate wedding feeling and provides a timeless backdrop for portraits, first looks, and wedding party photos.

The Rose Garden

The restored rose garden will likely become one of the most sought-after ceremony spaces in Minnesota. The mix of greenery, florals, and history feels romantic and intimate!

Trees and Lawn

The expansive grounds offer beautiful open space for portraits while maintaining the privacy and elegance that define the estate. There is good light and shade to work with around the trees, while still maximizing the unique aspect of the mansion backdrop.

This is the kind of location that works beautifully for film-inspired imagery and relaxed portraits.

Historic Ballroom

The ballroom is rich in architectural detail, with chandeliers, ornate moldings, and abundant natural light. It feels sophisticated and can easily support both intimate and larger celebrations.

The Atrium

The atrium looks like is going to be one of the most unique new wedding spaces in Minnesota.

With soaring windows, crystal chandeliers, and direct views into the rose garden, it creates a seamless connection between indoor elegance and outdoor beauty.

Cedarhurst History

Part of what makes Cedarhurst feel so special is its history.

Over the years it has welcomed presidents, diplomats, and notable visitors from around the world. For couples who love venues with a story, Cedarhurst offers a sense of place and legacy that’s difficult to recreate in a newer venue.

Things to Know Before You Book

  • The venue feels much more estate-inspired than traditional Minnesota wedding venues.
  • Multiple ceremony locations provide flexibility for weather and guest experience.
  • The atrium offers a stunning indoor option that never feels like a backup plan.
  • Onsite parking is available.
  • The venue includes beautifully designed getting-ready suites.
  • This venue shines most with thoughtful design and elevated aesthetics rather than rustic decor styles.

Is the Cedarhurst Mansion right for your wedding?

Cedarhurst is probably not the right fit if you’re looking for an industrial venue, a rustic barn, or a highly modern city space.

It shines for couples drawn to architecture, gardens, timeless design, and celebrations that feel elegant and centered around people.
