This Equestria West wedding had plenty to look at: warm, colorful flowers, a reception room filled with greenery, and two llamas dressed for the occasion. But what made it memorable was how naturally the playful details and tender moments fit together.
Color that brought this Equestria West Wedding to life
The florals were full of peach, orange, and golden flowers! It was bright and a little unexpected in the best way. The reception carried those colors into Equestria West’s white space, where the flowers stood out against white linens and chairs.
Greenery overhead made the room feel lush, while pink napkins, small candles, and flowers on the tables brought the color closer to guests. I loved the balance: the room still felt open and airy, but there was something interesting to notice everywhere you looked.
And yes, there were llamas
Two llamas made an appearance dressed more formally than some wedding guests I’ve met. One wore a tiny top hat and tuxedo bib; the other had a veil and a floral collar. I think they understood the assignment.
They were such a fun part of the celebration, and a good reminder that a wedding can be beautifully designed and have a sense of humor. The moments guests talk about afterward aren’t always the ones anyone could have predicted.
The moments in between
For all the color and personality in this wedding, some of my favorite photographs are the quiet ones. There’s an image of the bride leaning into two family members, all three of them smiling and holding each other close. It’s the sort of moment that can pass in seconds on a wedding day and mean more with every year that follows.
That’s what I hope the couple finds when they look through their gallery: the celebration they planned, of course, but also the way it felt to be there with the people they love. A look across the room. A shared laugh. A moment to hold on to each other.
