Elegant Winter Wedding at Hutton House in Minnesota

Elegant Winter Wedding at Hutton House in Minnesota

The Hutton House Wedding of Kate and Houston was an absolute stunner! Houston and Kate were glowing ! Their winter engagement  was so perfect and we couldn’t wait to share with you their winter wedding as well!

There was something incredibly calm and intentional about Kate and Houston’s winter wedding at Hutton House — the kind of day that doesn’t need to be loud to feel meaningful.

From the very beginning, their celebration felt centered on what mattered most: connection, presence, and the people closest to them.

The space itself set the tone beautifully. Hutton House in the winter has this way of feeling both bright and deeply cozy at the same time — and their ceremony in the fireplace room brought that feeling to life. The glow of the fire became such a natural focal point, paired with soft candlelight and minimal white florals with touches of greenery. Everything felt refined, but never overdone.

Their ceremony was, without a doubt, the heart of the day.

Not only was it filled with emotion, but it also held some of the most personal touches — including their dog making an appearance, which brought such a light, joyful energy into the space. And as they were pronounced married, the entire room seemed to exhale and celebrate alongside them. It was one of those moments that felt both intimate and incredibly full at the same time.

Throughout the day, there was a beautiful balance between warmth and simplicity. The design leaned into a neutral palette with soft greens and golden tones, allowing the atmosphere — and especially Kate’s dress — to truly stand out. It’s a perfect example of how a wedding doesn’t need to be overly detailed to feel elevated. Sometimes, less really does allow the most important elements to shine.

We stepped outside briefly during cocktail hour, just as a light snowfall began. It was quiet, peaceful, and honestly one of the most magical parts of the day. Those few moments gave us the softest winter portraits, while still allowing them to stay present with their guests for most of the celebration.

One of the things I love most about winter weddings at Hutton House is how easy the space makes everything feel from a photography perspective. The natural window light stays consistent and flattering throughout the day, which means couples don’t have to step far (or stay out in the cold long) to get beautiful, clean images.

Kate and Houston — thank you for trusting me to capture such a meaningful and beautiful chapter. It was truly an honor to be part of your day.
