There is so many romantic ways to propose, and one of the best ways to make it special for your spouse is by capturing the moment with photos. As a romantic, doing Surprise Proposal photography in Minneapolis, St Paul and all over Minnesota is one of my all time favorite!  There is such a high emotion and joy! Photographing this unique moment is a wonderful way to save it and make it a gift for your soon to be spouse!

Where to propose in Minneapolis or St Paul

If you are just starting to make plans, I am happy to help you sharing my favorite spots to propose!  There are many ways to propose, and many location ideas that I can provide based on your own inspiration. Let’s start with the best popular locations to do a Surprise proposal in Minneapolis and Minnesota!

When finding a location to propose you will want to make it something that is special, meaningful or stunning! Some couples look for a stunning backdrop while others choose for a more secluded spot. It truly depends on your personalities and what your favorite person might like!

1. Stone Arch Bridge Surprise Proposal

If you want to have a postcard photo of your favorite skyline! The best Surprise Proposal Photography will always be this image of the city. This bridge is gorgeous all year, in the summer nights or in snowy December nights!

2. Lyndale Rose Garden

Proposing during a trip to the Rose garden in the summer is perfect to sneak out to the gorgeous Lyndale Rose Garden and get on one knee when she least expects it!

The best is that there is a cute fountain in the center of the garden that is a great location for this.

 3. Minnehaha Falls

The falls are in the middle of the city and are GORGEOUS! This popular location is really a wonderful spot to do a surprise proposal.

4. Split Rock Lighthouse in The Northshore

This iconic park is a wonderful spot for something special! Proposing at the North Shore is a wonderful idea for outdoor lovers.

5. Como Zoo Conservatory

Thinking of a gorgeous garden ?  The Como Zoo Conservatory is great all year for a proposal. They rent out the space for a half an hour just for you!  Is a wonderful choice for the Winter !

6. Rice Park in December

Here is my favorite park to catch in December: Rice Park with all the twinkle lights. Is incredibly magical to be there!

7. At the Lake

One of our 10 000 lakes in Minnesota will be a great backdrop for this moment!

The Proposal Photographer will be there to help you capture the actual moment when you propose to your partner,  the proposal photos will be more candid and documentary! An Engagement photographer plans a set time for a portrait session with you!

Should we bring family members to my proposal? 

Absolutely! We can hide them in a bush – I have done many proposals where family is in town visiting for the proposal and it adds such a wonderful element to the celebration of an already wonderful moment!

Will you help me find a location?

Yes, my signature package includes help with location and itinerary, as well as many proposal tips to make sure your proposal is amazing!!

What if I have a crazy proposal idea?

I am in!! If you want to propose in a zip line , after a helicopter ride or in the top of Palisade Head. Let’s do it!

Will you help me setup decorations ?

Yes! We work with a wonderful planner and decorator if you would like to setup something stunning and unique!

Can my friends help setup decorations?

Absolutely, if you decide you want your friends or family to help and then just have me show up to be your proposal photographer, I can absolutely do that as well!
