A Mill City Museum Wedding
The Mill City Museum is a gorgeous place to have your wedding and reception! Is part of the Minnesota Historical Society museum in Minneapolis next to the banks of the Mississippi River! Rock, steel, brick and even doors adorned the walls around the museum. The museum is built in the ruins of the Washburn “A” Mill so it has a great open space courtyard where most ceremonies are held, the courtyard is surrounded by the crumbling ruins of the mill. You are able to see the Mississippi River from inside and go for a walk around the Mill City Ruins Park, a wonderful spot for photos.
Inside, the reception space is contemporary and spacious! If you like the city of Minneapolis and love industrial, modern venues, you are going to love these wedding photos!
Oh, happy day!
Amanda and Tom’s Mill City Wedding truly was the best day EVER! They were super excited for the wedding day to have all the people they love and who love them all together in one place!
To start the day, they picked an Airbnb where they could get ready with all their friends and walk to their venue from there! It was a great idea as it was a fun space to be in, and had great light for photos (and make up)
Details and Ceremony
They planned all the details carefully and with such love! Amanda’s dress was absolutely stunning and Tom’s suit was incredibly stylish. Their decoration and theme were geometric forms! Both the table decorations and the ceremony arch and sculpture centerpieces were DIY, as well as the table numbers, place cards and invitations! It was so fitting for Amanda’s background in Architecture!Â
For their Mill City Wedding, Amanda and Tom wrote and shared their vows during their ceremony . Tom’s vows were particularly funny and Amanda’s were genuinely sweet! Their talented friend Jen officiated a brilliantly, funny and moving ceremony and a couple other friends shared two beautiful readings.
We escaped during sunset for a stroll around the Stone Arch Bridge and returned to the party! Toasts by parents, sisters and best friends were a super hit , a lot of wonderful laughs and teary eyes! The reception continued with a full dance floor!
